Storytime: Adam and Even (Genesis 3:1–24)
God created Adam and Eve and gave them a beautiful garden called Eden. They could enjoy everything God had made, but God gave them one rule: they were not to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
One day, the serpent came to Eve and asked, “Did God really say you can't eat from that tree?”
The serpent began to make Eve question what God had told her. He told her that she wouldn't really die and that eating the fruit would make her like God, knowing good and evil.
Eve looked at the fruit and decided to eat it. Then she gave some to Adam, and he ate it too.
Suddenly, they realized they had disobeyed God. They were ashamed and afraid, so they tried to hide from Him.
But God knew where they were.
God came looking for Adam and Eve, and they had to face the consequences of their choice. Sin had now entered the world, and their perfect relationship with God was broken.
But even though Adam and Eve had disobeyed, God did not stop loving them. He still cared for them and promised that one day, sin and Satan would be defeated.
